Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Colour Trends
Anyone with a passion for clothes is already aware of this season’s trend to wear a lot of red and orange. When it comes to colour trends, we can trust the Pantone Colour Institute and their recommendations of strong and rather bold colour palettes for this season. If you aren’t quite comfortable with wearing Chili Pepper and Orange Tiger, you may want to focus on getting some brightly coloured accessories such as bags, shoes and belts.
When Checks and Prints Go Hand in Hand
Prints were last season’s hottest thing, regardless of their colour or shape. This season appears to be all about checks. If you can’t find any in your wardrobe, it’s time to start shopping for a check blazer or for some fancy check trousers. While the AW19 catwalks have seen some daring red and yellow checks, you may not see them down to the high street. The street fashion will rather be about softer patterns and colours such as mustard, olive, and different shades of brown. Keep in mind, though, that animal print has never gone out of fashion. Nevertheless, this year’s patterns will focus on snakeskin in muted hues. You’ll probably see a lot of mock-snakeskin boots just like the ones Givenchy and Michael Kors have showcased on their catwalks. If you don’t want to wear animal print clothing, get at least a bag, a scarf or some boots. Even a hair accessory would do.
Vintage Fairytale Style
Girly fashion will be on top of the trends this autumn. Dare to wear feathers on your dresses, ruffles on your skirts, and puffed sleeves on your blouses. As the feminine style is coming back in force, pearl earrings are again in focus. All fashion shows by big houses such as Chanel, Burberry, and Prabal Gurang featured baroque pearl earrings in a wide array of shapes and styles. This vintage trend is back once more. If you don’t feel like wearing pearls in oysters, you can choose a pair of basic pearl stud earrings to complete your outfits and give them the modern touch you’re after.
Knits and Belts for the Winter
Once summer’s gone, it’s time to wear your favourite oversized knitwear again. Oversized argyle knits and chunky jumpers will be among the hottest trends of this season. We can’t speak on your behalf, but for us this is a great joy and an immense relief. Who doesn’t want to feel comfortable without giving up on style? This next trend of the high street is something most women will surely love.
You may have already noticed those waist-cinching belts. This fashion trend of the 70s is coming back in force, so get ready to update your wardrobe with some of these giant belts to wrap around your shirts or knitwear. They go very well with coats and blazers, as well. It doesn’t take much to have a girly, hourglass silhouette this season.
The small totes of this summer are already a thing of the past. This autumn we expect to see giant totes, black sparkly clutches and statement bags all over the place. This is a practical choice, as you’ll be able to fit more than a smartphone and some keys in your bags. Choose metallic tones or burgundy hues. If you don’t want to spend money on new bags, consider updating your old ones. A stylish bag strap can take you a long way. Dare to mix and match colours and styles! This is what we love!
